Kids & Infants drowning Survival Skills

Our aim is to equip as many young children and infants as possible( 6 months - 6 years)with the skills to survive an accidental fall into a body of water.

Being a learn to swim instructor since 2007, I have identified that current learn to swim programs teach infants water familiarization only. This does not provide a young child (0-6 years) with the adequate skills to survive in a high risk water situation

The unique learn to swim program teaches infants (6-12 months) to:

* automatically turn onto their back and float independently as long as possible (minimum 5 minutes),

* children (1-6 years) to float -swim- float until they are able to reach the side and climb out to safety,

* children begin the program in swimwear and complete when they are able to meet set requirements fully clothed,

Children are also shown many different entries simulating falling into the water.

Children generally learn the survival skills within 8 weeks, starting in swim wear and concluding the program fully clothed.

As a mother of a 12 month old I was amazed when I saw a program that taught survival lessons to young children and infants.

As a qualified swimming instructor I began to teach the basics of the program to my own daughter.

Receiving positive feedback from the public swimmers at the pool, and seeing the progress of my daughter convinced me that I needed to share a survival program with our community.

After daily 10 minute lessons, within 4 weeks she was able to automatically turn onto her back and float for the required 5 minutes.
